Parts of pallet

The deck board as the name suggests makes the top surface of the pallet. The material is always placed on the top deck board until its reversible type pallet

Based on the type of top deck board, a pallet can be defined into 2 major types namely, 1) single face pallet, and 2) double face pallet

The bottom deck board as the name suggest make the bottom part of the pallet

Based on the type of the bottom deck board, a pallet can be defined into 2 major types namely, 1) reversible pallet and, 2) non reversible pallet

*NOTE: Both the reversible and non reversible pallets are double face pallets

A pallet width is always measured from the side that is perpendicular to the stringer side. A stringer is the closed sides of pallet in a two – way pallet and the the sides with notch or block in a four – way pallet

A pallet length is always measured from the stringer side of the pallet. A stringer is the closed sides of pallet in a two – way pallet and the the sides with notch or block in a four – way pallet

A fork entry is an opening that lets the fork move inside a pallet

Based on the number of entry levels, a pallet is defined into 2 major types namely, 1) two – way and 2) four – way entry pallet. A two – way pallet has closed stringer while a four – way pallet has openings on stringer side

Further a four - way pallet is defined into stringer and block type pallet. While a block type pallet can be used with all type of forks, stringer type pallet can be used by pallet truck and fork over type stacker from only two sides
